The STC0440-BT40 features a powerful 40.0 hp [30 kW] servo motor delivers consistent, controllable performance across a wide range of automated processes. The spindle can be mounted in either a parallel or perpendicular orientation on the AFD1240 and AFD92 force compliance devices. This combination enables consistent contact force and repeatable surface finishes, simplifying robot programming and improving process quality.

The STC0440-BT40 features quad bearings in the front and duplex bearings, in the rear making it ideal for rigid applications. When mounted rigidly, this configuration is ideal for automated machining, deflashing, gate removal, and other applications where rigid tool positioning is required.

The spindle accepts standard BT40 tapered toolholders allowing customers to use readily available CNC tooling or custom PushCorp toolholders.This provides flexibility for applications using abrasive disks, grinding wheels, drill bits, end mills, and other cutting tools.

The STC0440-BT40 servo spindle comes standard with quick-change functionality. Supplying 90 psi releases the toolholder, while removing air pressure securely clamps the toolholder in place. This allows automated tool changes and quick replacement of abrasive or cutting tools.

The Kollmorgen AKD amplifier powers the servo spindle, as well as provides analog speed control and digital I/O. This can be ordered on its own or integrated into a UL certified control panel.
