AFD120
The AFD120 is part of PushCorp’s Active Compliance series, and has been designed with cobots and smaller industrial robots in mind. This end effector can apply up to 27 lbf [120 N] in any orientation, automatically. Consequently, this tooling is a great choice for automating robotic, material-removal applications where parts have complex or curved geometries.
The SM1202 and all RPS100 variations are PushCorp products optimized to mount to the AFD120. Together, they can automate a wide variety of robotic processes:
• Robotic Grinding
• Robotic Sanding
• Robotic Polishing
• Robotic Deburring
• Robotic Drilling
For increased force output, our AFD310 is the next largest in the series. It can apply up to 60 lbf [267 N], making it a great candidate for medium duty processes.
The AFD120 Series is available in two configurations: AFD120-1 Vertical and the AFD120-2 Horizontal; the units are functionally identical but differ in the orientation in which they attach to the robot’s wrist. The AFD120 Series has been designed to allow the user to easily swap configurations, and attach to the robot’s face plate via a single secure fastener.
The AFD120-1 applies force perpendicular to the robot’s face plate, whereas the AFD120-2 is parallel. These configurations allow you to optimize a robot’s reach and dexterity for your particular application.
The AFD120 is available in two versions: AFD120-FCU & AFD120-POE. The AFD120-FCU communicates with the PLC/robot controller through the FCUFLEX to set the applied force and monitor I/O. The AFD120-POE bypasses the FCU and communicates directly via passive Power Over Ethernet (POE) using JSON structured text to send and receive commands over UDP.
